Immigration Options:

The following sections and questions are intended to assist you in identifying which visas might apply to your particular circumstances. This is not intended to be legal advice, but rather to help you start to identify (before you even arrive in Panama) what options are available for you.  This is not a comprehensive list of all of the visas available in Panama - but rather the visas that clients generally qualify for and are looking for.
You should consult a lawyer for any immigration application in Panama before you get started.

Is it important to you to get citizenship? Or just the passport?

Citizenship Just the Passport
If citizenship is important for you, then we need to look at the Permanent Resident Visas and Naturalisation If you are interested in just the Passport, then you might have a look at the 2nd passport programme for Retired Investors

Investment Options:

More than $60,000.00?

There are a number of Long-Term Visas or Special Permanent Residency Visas that do not require investments

No Yes
The only investment for $60,000.00 is the Reforestation Visa for Temporary Residence There are a number of options for investment in Panama, mostly which lead to Permanent Residency and Nationalisation.

There is a Reforestation investment visa  for Permanent Residency and Naturalisation.  This will take you to a Passport, but you have to hold the investment for at least 10 years. You could qualify for setting up a business, purchasing a home, holding a time deposit, or other options.  There are a number of business options, not all of which require employees.

More than $250,000.00?

An investment of $250,000.00 will qualify you for either one of these visas:  If you have $300,000.00 or more to invest in Panama, you might:
Investment in the Panama Pacific Zone (Howard) Set up a Time Deposit  for a minimum of 2 years (any bank in Panama with a general banking license)
Investment in a Call Center Purchase a property, house or apartment, with at least $300,000 equity in the home.
