Registration at Immigration

The first step in Immigration, irrespective of whether you wish to apply for an extension of your tourist visa, apply for a temporary visa, or apply for an immigrant visa is to register at the Immigration Department. 

This is known in Spanish as "filiación" (basically - signing up). 

Documents required:

1. Copy of the front page of your passport (the page that has your photo, general details, and signature)
2. Fill in the immigration form (we can assist you with this)
3. Two (2) passport sized photos.

For all of our immigration clients, we will send someone with them to the Immigration Department to register.  This can be done in about 20-30 minutes, as long as you arrive early in the morning. 

Most clients find it convenient to make an appointment to meet at the Immigration Department with one of our staff members, and then arrive at the office to continue with the documentation.
