Other Panamanian Commercial Entities:
There are a number of other Panamanian commercial entities, which are not any
where near as well known as the Sociedad Anónima (limited company, "c" corp,
private company).
These include:
- Sociedad Colectiva - which is basically a General Partnership, in which
all partners can represent the partnership and for which liability is
unlimited, unless the name includes the word "limitada", indicating that the
responsibility of the partners is limited;
- Sociedad en Comandita Simple - which is basically
- Sociedad en Comandita de Acciones -
- Sociedad Civil - which is a civil law general partnership, which is
limited to professionals (such as lawyers or accountants), in which the
responsibility of the partners is unlimited
